Hello All;=20
Been lurking for a while now, I just acquired a supercharger kit =
(circa mid 70s) for a SOHC750 Honda motor, so it was great to find a =
list that is specific to this sort of stuff. I race a SOHC 750 in the =
vintage class at our local dirt drags and am going to build a SOHC motor =
that is suitable for the blower. I have some basic questions that I need =
some help with:
*the blower came as a kit to be bolted on a stock 736cc motor, it says =
that it provides 10psi boost at max RPM (8200), if I increase the =
displacement how much should I increase the speed of the blower to =
compensate, is the formula a straight 10% increase in displacement =
=3D10% increase in blower speed needed etc to stay at 10psi??
*what would the effect of lowering the compression have on blower =
function, is this benificial to performance because of combustion =
control (detonation etc) or done just to be able to "stuff" more mixture =
in.=20
*I plan to run the motor on alcohol, will this take away a lot of the =
problems of detonation, timing etc.
My present plan is to run the blower kit "as is" on a motor with a =
812cc bore kit, the 812cc pistons are 10.5-1, should I lower the =
compression or ?? and will the stock cam be ok or should I get a blower =
grind cam ground.=20
Our race track is 100yds long and the motor will run one gear only, =
races are about 5 secs in duration.=20
Sorry for all the questions but I think it's easier to ask people who =
have been there, before I start learning from scratch.

PS- got a 1972 SOHC Honda 750 with a American TurboPak turbo kit on it =
also, but it was together already when I bought it, so I didn't have too =
build the motor :-)
